Large Diana jug, yellow with white spots.

Good condition.  No chips, flaw in glaze visible on rim.  Bright shiny exterior glaze.  Some grime inside and on upper part of jug.

Bendigo Pottery Dogs

A pair of Bendigo Pottery dogs.  These have a manufacturing fault.  They have been imperfectly glazed, there are gaps visible in the glaze of both dogs, it is worse on the left dog.  Apart from the manufacturing fault they are in excellent condition, clean, no chips, cracks, crazing or other damage.

IMF STUDIO ALS 30 STEREO SPEAKERS - VINTAGE QUALITY ENGLISH LOUDSPEAKERS

These speakers were purchased new in 1982, they have been used lightly since then and used very rarely lately.  They are genuine one owner items that have been well cared for.  They have had no repairs, no upgrades, no cone re-foaming, no driver replacement, no crossover adjustments. They come with the original boxes, packaging and manual.  Technical information from IMF is below. 

They are hand made English speakers of exceptional quality, well engineered and built to very high standards.  They are a mirror image pair, with four drivers in each enclosure. The enclosures are heavy, solid and inert. They are well constructed and veneered with real timber, a dark honey coloured oak.  There are some small scuffs, minor chips and scratches but considering their age they are in very good condition. The cloth is intact, some minor staining on one.  

They are working well considering their age.  I have no idea whether they are working to specification but they play music well, better than the other speakers I own. They have a solid, controlled sound, strong in the midrange.  They handle vocals and acoustic music very well.  If your music tastes include a lot of chunky assertive bass then these speakers may not be for you, or you may need to use a subwoofer or auxiliary bass speaker. They are not particularly efficient and do need some power to drive them.  I am using an amplifier that produced a continuous 60 watts per channel. This seems adequate, they can safely be driven by more powerful amplifiers.  

The midrange driver foam is starting to degenerate and probably should be renewed at some time in the future. I am not aware of any other mechanical issues, I have never opened them up and can’t comment on the condition of the crossover components.

NAD PP2 PHONO PRE-AMPLIFIER

NAD PP2 TURNTABLE PHONO PRE-AMPLIFIER

This is a phono  pre-amplifier to use with stereo amplifiers that do not have a phono input or may have a poor quality inbuilt phono stage pre-amp. The rear has inputs to connect to your turntable and outputs to your amplifier.

I bought this unit new when I upgraded a stereo amplifier, it has had very little use, turned on approximately 20 times.  It works well and has no faults that I am aware of.  It is a simply presented, well constructed device that does a very good job.  It is in excellent condition and has no damage, no scratches or chips to the paint. 

Included is the external 24 volt power supply and an audio lead.  I do not have the original box, there is no manual, but I have included sections of the original box which I kept as it had information printed on it. The device measures 135 mm x 90 mm x 50 mm.

Many of today's stereo and AV amplifiers and receivers have either eliminated the phonograph input altogether, or included a low cost - and low performance - circuit for attaching your turntable. The PP 2 offers superb performance in a neat and simple package for a very reasonable cost The PP2 has a high gain Moving Coil Cartridge input allowing proper matching to virtually any high quality turntable/cartridge combination. It also includes a grounding terminal post, and gold plated input and output sockets.

It uses costly metal film resistors and film type capacitors in the signal path.  It uses a 24 volts power supply which has improved overload margins and enhanced musical dynamics.

Rega Planar 2 Turntable

REGA PLANAR 2 – GRACE 707 TONE ARM  - CLASSIC ENGLISH BELT DRIVE TURNTABLE

The Rega Planar 2 is a belt drive turntable, it is teak framed with a slate base mounted on 3 substantial rubber feet.  The platter is a heavy plate glass fitted with a good quality rubber mat.  This is a completely manual turntable, the only control is a power switch.  The turntable is generally set to play 33.3 rpm records, it can play 45 rpm records but only by manually shifting the belt. The turntable is in very good condition, clean and well maintained.  It has recently had the drive belt and motor suspension belt replaced.

This turntable is fitted with a Grace 707 tone arm which has a lever to raise and lower it. The arm is fitted with the original Grace cartridge, the stylus is a Goldring equivalent of the Grace stylus. The stylus tip is in good condition but its cantilever has suffered some lateral distortion.  The turntable comes with a grey Perspex dust cover that has been badly damaged on the right front corner. 

The Rega Planar 2 has a reputation as a very good turntable and is a very cool piece of classic English stereo equipment.  This is a genuine one owner item, it has been well maintained and used generally used very carefully.  It works well and still sounds very good even given the age of the cartridge and stress experienced by the stylus.  An aficionado with a more critical ear than me may consider upgrading the cartridge and stylus.

Included is the original “hints and tips” sheet shipped with the turntable.  There is no packaging or box included.

Black Olympus OM2 Spot/Program 35mm camera body

Black Olympus OM2 Spot/Program 35mm camera body.
This camera body is is very good clean condition inside and out.  It has no scratches, dents or exterior damage, the paint is intact, all controls and switches work.  Inside; the body is clean, very little sign of wear, seals appear to be intact.  I have not used this body for at least a year. the last time I used it it appeared to work well.

Olympus OM Zuiko Lens 100mm f2.8

Original 100 mm 2.8 lens, number 162463.  Included are an original front and back cap, 49mm uv filter, original screw on lens hood. The lens seems to operate correctly, focus ring and aperture blades work well, glass is in good clean condition. The lens comes with the original case, case does have a strap. No other accessories, no box or documentation. 

I generally used this as a portrait lens with OM bodies.  I found it very a very useful lens, gave excellent results.

Orrefors, Carl Fagerlund Lamp

Carl Fagerlund, Orrefors Lamp

A very imposing high quality piece that when illuminated throws an attractive, warm light. The lamp has a brass base, clear glass crystal insert with brown/amber glass shade. The lamp stands approximately 31 cm high, the shade is approx 32 cm in diameter, base approximately 10 cm high with a diameter of 20 cm. The glass pieces are high quality handmade glass. The outer glass shade weighs approximately 1.9 kg, it has some chips to the rim. The outer glass shade is held to the base with three screws. The inner crystal is in perfect condition. This crystal weighs approximately 2.2 kg. The base has been highly polished and perhaps has been plated, the polishing/plating is now somewhat imperfect but still very attractive. The lamp has a basic white lead with a line switch. The lamp has two stickers attributing the design to C. Fagerlund, and another sticker with Orrefors 2210 on it.

Olympus OM Zuiko Lens 200mm f4

Original 200 mm f4 lens, including cap, back cap, 55mm UV filter, lens has an attached hood that can be pulled out. The lens seems to operate correctly, focus ring and aperture blades work well, glass in good clean condition. There are some signs of cosmetic wear to aperture ring, hood and lens cover. The lens comes with the original leather case, this has been used and shows signs of wear, original foam inside lid has decayed and has been removed. The leather case and silver nose indicate that this is an earlier model lens. No other accessories, no box or documentation.

Original lens, including cap, back cap, 1A filter. Seems to operate correctly, good clean condition, no visible damage. No other accessories; no case, box or documentation.

Poole pot, Atlantis ware, maker Guy Sydenham. Dimensions, 21 x 17 cm. Very good condition, no chips cracks or damage, has been used as a vase.

Electric Control Sydney Ashtray, with map of Australia and Aboriginal figure

This is a very interesting piece of smoking related Australiana. This item has an ashtray in the form of a concave cast iron map of Australia with a bronze (I think) aboriginal figure attached to the Northern Territory. Apart from a basic clean the item is in "as found" condition, the figure is still somewhat stained, the ashtray has white paint spots and some oxidation. The posture of left arm and hand of the figure suggests that it should contain a spear or other hunting implement, but there is no evidence of this, no recess in the hard or stump of broken implement is evident It is conceivable that the shape of the left hand has some smoking related function. A repair has been made to the mount of the figure, a piece of the Northern Territory has broken off at some time and another screw has been inserted. I have no way of dating this item, 20th century I think. The map is 16cm by 12cm, the figure is 9 cm high. Item available at $85.00.

Troika pottery cornwall, spice jar

Made by the Troika pottery Cornwall. Based on the mark on the base, available internet information suggests that it was decorated by Louise Jinks, at Troika 1976 to 1981, she was senior decorator from 1979 to 1981. The pot is in good used condition, it has been used as a vase, still contains evidence of this inside. There are no chips, cracks or visible damage. The pot is 15cm in height, 7cm across the base.

Wilkhahn FS Line 211/8 office chair

This is a Wilkhahn ergonomic office chair, it presents as a 1980s piece though I am unable to date it accurately. It is a high quality chair in good condition for its age. It has a gas lift, back lock and back tension control; all work. The fabric is red and green, in good condition, clean with no holes.

Schuco electro, Synchromatic 5700, Packard

This is a Schuco battery powered model of a Packard car, predominately green in colour. It is 25cm by 11 cm. This item is being sold exactly as it appears here, there are no accessories such as remote steering, no manuals, no extras and no original box. I have no expertise with this type of item but it appears to be in good condition. The item has been used. The largest paint chip I can find is on the rear, see picture. There are no dents, or scratches, it is generally clean but with signs of age and use. The windscreen has stress fracturing at the bends. I have no idea whether the upholstery paint has light damage or it is as it should be. The motor works, I assume the transmission does.

Royal Doulton, famous ships bowl, The Active.

This is from the Royal Doulton Famous Ships series. Approximately the middle of the last century. The bowl is 19.5cm in diameter across the rim, it is 10cm in height. The bowl is in very good sound condition, no chips or cracks, glaze is bright and shiny, clean rim. I am not sure if the bowl has been used, there may be some slight wear and crazing on the inside, the interior is slightly less pristine than the exterior. Given my lack of experience with these items I cannot really be sure if the interior surface condition is from atmospheric moisture and cleaning, or wear. But overall the bowl is in very good condition.

Black stained table - on wheels

Table is constructed from hardwood, oak like in colour and appearance on flat surfaces, good clean condition, all joints sound. Wheels have obvious rust but work quite well. Dimensions, 500mm x 760mm, 840mm high on wheeels, botton shelf is at 350mm on wheels. Surface is clean and smooth, waxed. There is wear to top and bottom shelf with timber exposed, generally attractive patina.
